My exploration of The Lincoln House by Mary Otis Stevens was focused on viewpoint and viewer experience as a result of the multitude of layers and perspectives overlapping one another in the original house.

I designed a multi-generational house inspired by the Lincoln House by Mary Otis Stevens. Building my design around these viewpoints and perspectives, I chose to explore this through the roof. The curved roof peaks and troughs in a manner that it can become a part of the furniture and interact with its residents in order to create the illusion of overlapping perspectives allowing for discovery and rediscovery each time.

The digital model of the final house design was produced on Rhino using 20 horizontal perspectives cutting through the size to map the roof. It is supported with a physical 1:100 scale model iterating the roof. Supported by photographs of the model's interior depicted the movement of light. The model was produced out of plaster.  My iterations were inspired by fabric draping, to create the illusion of a blanket providing security, comfort, and warmth given the site location.
