A series of three tambour frames displaying an abstract representation of blood, inspired by heart dissections. Blood is symbolic of identity, however, when dissecting a heart I was only able to see the biology. Fat deposits, blood clots, muscle and a foul smell. 

 

Through using gathered mesh, a combination of stitching, beading, applique and collograph printing in order to create a variety of texture. As the frames progress, each one becomes more abstract in its representation of blood.
